For puppies and toddlers between 8 and 15 weeks of age The Van Stal puppy course is a comprehensive course of six lessons, taught by certified instructors and behavioural therapists. A new group starts every fortnight, so you never have to wait long to start! In all courses, we work with small groups: a maximum of four dogs per instructor. When the weather is nice, we train outside on our property, and when the weather is bad, we stay nice and dry in our spacious, covered training hall. In this course for puppies and toddlers, the focus is on daily life: what does a growing dog need to learn in order to keep up with your daily life? This includes practical exercises such as walking without pulling, paying attention to you and coming here. We pay a lot of attention to the socialisation process of your pup and the prevention of future unwanted behaviour: a good start really is half the battle. To properly guide your pup, it is important that you learn about the learning process of dogs, that you understand which emotions play a role in your dog’s behaviour and how you can deal with them. Through a combination of theory and practical lessons, we help you develop the necessary knowledge and skills. Become your dog’s best companion: start with the Van Stal Puppy Course!

Help, my puppy is becoming a toddler!  What should I do now?  He still hangs onto trouser legs, jumps up at visitors or onto the sofa, seems tireless, has bananas in his ears and sometimes seems to have forgotten everything he has learned.
Don't worry, this is all part of the process. Van Stal is here to help you and your puppy through it.

The Elementary School Van Stal is a super comprehensive, intensive course of 8 lessons completed within 1 month. Lots of information in a short time so you won't be left behind. And these lessons are mostly held indoors!

During the basic course, you learn to look through the eyes of a trainer. You gain insight into the behaviour of your dog and dogs in general. Why does your dog show certain behaviour, what is the underlying emotion and how do you deal with it in a positive way? We not only increase your dog's capacity to think, but also yours as a handler. You learn to think consciously and solution-focused in terms of changing behaviour, not unlearning it.

Does your dog sometimes lash out at other dogs? Do you wonder why your dog does that? During the reactive dogs course, we give you insight into your dog's behaviour and body language. We will help you think solution-focused and make you a trusted companion to your dog.

At Van Stal, we help you and your dog find a solution to these problems together. We specialize in complex behavioral issues such as falling out on leash, chasing traffic/people/dogs/horses, not being able to be home alone, and other expressions of (fear) aggression or frustration. We work with positive training methods focused on the well-being of the dog. That means we do not use correction, coercion or any other form of suppressing behavior and emotions.
